The video stills and photographs shown here are images taken in the small town of Rheinfelden, in the canton of Aargau.
As dreamlike as the place is, these photographic overlays seem just as fairy-tale-like to me – I call this technique “aesthetic transparency”. The figures in black and white appear mysterious.
Alongside drawing and painting, I have always taken photographs: starting with the first cheap plastic Instamatic cameras, through SLR and analogue S-VHS video cameras, to digital video cameras. Today, the camera on my iPhone or iPad serves me in place of a notebook – the artistic know-how brings a lifelong joy in s'imaginer.
